I reverse-engineered a North Face fleece jacket and re-sewed it in a variety of natural and synthetic fabrics.
I reverse engineered a pair of Carhartt Work Shorts and sewed a matching pair.
I designed a hanging system to display my garments.
These are for the exhibition pictured above.
This is a silkscreen on faux-leather.
These are samples of a high-performance synthetic down encased in translucent silk.
-This is what the show looked like.

The shorts are the first thing I sewed.
I got the pattern by dissasembling a pair of worn-out Carhartt shorts.
Below is the story of the jackets.
I had the idea to remake this fleece in wool and silk, instead of polyester and nylon taffeta.
First, I made this one out of random scraps.
It has Real3D camo, lace, velvet, and light-weight tweed.
Then, this one.
Getting the zipper/hood intersection to work was tough.
Fast forward... I eventually got it like this.
But only because I had a patternmaker in Chinatown make me a pattern.
I tried many times and couldn't figure out.
This is the first version with the professional pattern.
It is wool and silk charmeusse. The silk is screenprinted with a photo of denim.
The trim around the hood is pink iridescent silk taffeta.
After the blue one, I sewed 5 versions in different colors.
This red one is acrylic felt with a cotton/wool blend for the upper.
I sewed them batch style; I did the same operation to all 5, and really zoomed on the details.
Again, the final display, in the 1st fl Collonade at Cooper.
They're hanging from blue ribbon, and these laser cut plexi hangers.
The banner above the door way is silkscreen on pleather.
These are pillows made from silk organza, with Thinsulate insulation.
I have a dream of making silk puffy jackets. This is a study for that.
